My blogging has slipped substantially. I’ve been overly busy taking on freelance projects, and my own DJ endeavors, but I’ll try and keep a closer watch on things from now on. In the meantime I now have a twitter, you can follow me here. And if you care to keep up with the 9-5 we just launched the new GROW BLOG.

Was chillen over at my boy Marks house and came across this artifact. I think I made this in 1998? This was the first mix I ever made and we used to shop them out at school. I’d upload the MP3 but I don’t feel like embarrassing myself.

Just to keep moving from the last post… Meet one of my bestfriends Mike, AKA Ill Sanchez. I’ve spent some amazing nights with him barely coherent, doing everything from showering empty beer bottles from a rooftop in brooklyn, shoveling vomit out of his parents sink, tearing bushes straight from the ground, and emptying almost an entire hotel room’s contents off of a 5th floor balcony. I’ve since calmed down quite a bit, and so has he… check out some of the solo tunes he’s been writing… I guarantee you’ll enjoy them.
Way back when, I had the unbelievable chance to hit the road for 2 months with some dear friends in a band called I Am The Avalanche. Though alot of it was a blur, I can firmly say it was probably some of the best days of my life. These guys have been working their asses off for years now, and after setback after setback with their Label, have still managed to write some amazing music. Check out the vid below, and go see them next time they are in town.

The blog is looking more like an events page these days because I’ve been so busy with work, but hey at least the flyers have been nice to look at! Next up is tomorrow night at the Jewish mother. Antibalas is a dope Afro Beat Orchestra, and a show not to miss. Doddie will be getting the crowd moving before their set so get there early to WILD OUT!!!!! Peep the ILL flyer by Jae.

I know you lost your skate team, and you only make shoes for sneaker hunting asians, and mall/hood rat teenagers, but please for the love of god find a way to bring these back to your lineup. My kickflips will thank you a million times over.
